Before making an appointment, be sure to call the clinic or check there website to find out what their safety standards entail. Here are a few questions that you may want to ask prior to your visit:
How can I protect myself?
The best way to reduce the risk of contracting COVID-19 is to avoid contact with all people who do not need to be involved with your Audiologist visit. Shortly before your appointment you will receive a call from the clinic asking if your have symptoms of COVID-19, such as fever, cough and shortness of breath.
Always remember to bring your mask! Clinic staff will tell you this beforehand as well. Some clinics may also ask you to come alone, or with only one person.
Handwashing with soap for at least 20 seconds, hand sanitizer, avoiding touching your face, eyes and nose are a must do!
What else is important for me to know?
Just remember that it is okay to ask for help, especially during this public health emergency. If you need help getting supplies, thing about family, friends, or even the clinic may be able to safely assist you. Please call your doctor if you have medical questions or concerns.
